How Sarnacki Law Firm Works to Help You

The most important thing we do is provide each and every one of our clients with effective advocacy. We believe that everyone who walks through our door is entitled to rigorous representation that puts their unique needs first.

In order to provide you with the most effective advocacy, we must be honest. Honesty is, at all time, the best policy, and it is especially valuable during a confusing and difficult time. By being honest with our clients, we are better able to focus on delivering the service you deserve.

Divorce is not necessarily a simple process. There are different kinds of divorces and different ways of reaching an outcome. With our decades of experience, we can work with you to find the best method for working through a divorce.

What is Arbitration?

Arbitration takes place when a couple hires a private judge to decide on the terms of your divorce. While you and your spouse will both be allowed to prepare arguments and show evidence and present other relevant information, this is not done in a public courtroom. For couples who value their privacy, an arbitration is an excellent option, given the proper set of circumstances. Because the process is less formal, arbitration is usually faster than a normal divorce.

What are the Benefits of Arbitration?

  • You and your spouse get to choose the judge instead of that being decided for you
  • Arbitration usually takes less time to complete than a courtroom divorce
  • Arbitration tends to be less expensive than other forms of divorce proceedings
  • You have more privacy than you would if you went to court

If you think arbitration would be a better option for you, contact the Sarnacki Law Firm today. We can work with you to put together your case and help you find the right judge for your arbitration.

What is the Difference Between Mediation and Arbitration?

Mediation is another way for couples who are getting divorced to come to an agreement about how things will be handled. Unlike in arbitration where a judge makes the final decision, a mediator is a neutral third party who works together with the couple and their attorneys to finalize an agreement that all parties are okay with. Mediation is also more private and more affordable than other kinds of divorce, but it requires that both parties are on speaking terms and that they abide by the agreement set by the mediator.

Other Types of Divorce

A simplified divorce, sometimes called a summary divorce or consent divorce, allows couples without children, and with minimal assets to get a divorce more quickly. Call the Sarnacki Law Firm to learn more about this option.

If you want a divorce but your spouse will not speak to you or cannot be found, a default divorce may be possible. The Sarnacki Law Firm can help you determine whether or not a default divorce would be an option during a consultation.

Colloquially referred to as a separation, separate maintenance is when a married couple remains legally married but do not live together. If you are a member of a faith that has a prohibition on marriage, separate maintenance could be a way to remove yourself from a marriage without getting a divorce.
